 What is a facial?
A facial is a process used to clean, exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Facials promote clear radiant skin. If you are having specific skin problems, your skin is too dry or oily a professional facial may help.
What is the cost of a facial?
Costs for facials vary by geographic locations and specific place performing the facial (spa, beauty salon, MedSpa, etc.) The other key factors to for the final cost of a facial are the products being used and the additional optional services performed with a basic facial. The cost of products used by MedSpa and Salons vary greatly – and with this cost the effectiveness of some of these products are also worlds apart. Most “standard” facials have a base cost of $75-80. Pink Orchid MedSpa offers amazing deals for new clients on introductory facials and often runs specials of combination treatments (massage and a facial ordered for the same visit for example).
What happens during a facial?
If you are joining us at the Pink Orchid MedSpa for a number of treatments including a facials, you will be provided with a private locker and spa robe and slippers. For the facial you may also be given a spa wrap providing access to your shoulders and neck for esthetician’s work.
After comfortably positioning yourself on the special esthetician chair, the process will start with the a skin analysis during which the esthetician will examine your skin under a bright light and magnifying glass. The analysis will show any issues and reveal skin conditions and imperfection so that the esthetician is able to focus some of the work to positively affect these skin conditions.
Using exfoliating tools and equipment the next step in the facial process concentrates on removing some of the top texture of the skin. This process is often done while a steam vapor is directed at your face. In some treatments, steam towels may also be used.
After completing the skin exfoliation, the esthetician may proceed with removing blackheads or whiteheads – this may not be done with all facial procedures since each person’s pain tolerance for extractions is different and this process may make the client uncomfortable.
A facial massage may then be performed to both relax and stimulate the skin and muscles of the face. After the facial massage is completed, a facial mask will be applied. Products used for facial masks are not all created equal. Some over-the-counter products are very simple, inexpensive and may offer limited improvements to the skin. Who performs a facial?
A facial is performed by a Licensed Esthetician.
How long does a facial take?
Our facials take from 30 minutes for a mini-facial to a full 1 hour facial process. The 1 hour facial consists of 5-10 minutes for consultation and changing and a 50-55 minute facial session.
